The ED Buck Golf Classic Golf Tournament

2018 Tournament is June 02, 2018 starts at 10am

Why is it called the “The Ed Buck Memorial Golf Tournament” and the “Jamie Tinney Memorial Scholarship Fund?” it is called the “The Ed Buck Memorial Golf Tournament” because Ed Buck a former Fire Chief of the Richwood Fire Department was in office from 1946 to 1989 that’s over 43 years of dedicated service to his community Ed passed away while in office shortly after returning home from a fire call. The reason it is being called the “Jamie Tinney Memorial Scholarship Fund” is because Jamie was a young dedicated member of the department with 4 years of experience under his belt but sadly in July of 2010 Jamie was diagnosed with cancer that started in his wrist and swelled his wrist but this did not put him down he continued going to collage studding law so he could proceed with his dream of being a U.S. Marshal and he continued to go to firefighting class he studied to be on a RIT Team which is a team that go in to a burning or collapsed build to rescue trapped or injured fire fighters this class and many more like it he kept doing and achieving goals like this until November of 2010 when he was told he would have to lose part of his arm to try and save his life, Jamie done good during and after the surgery but sadly 2 weeks later he passed away suddenly, while in the hospital a U.S. Marshal came into Jamie’s room and swore him in as a U.S. Marshal although Jamie didn’t not know this was happening cause of the coma he was in it was a great honor to his family and friends.

Our department is starting this program to help continue that honor to Jamie’s family and to Ed’s Family they both left a lot of Family and Brother and Sisters in the fire service behind.
